LED marine lanterns are incredibly reliable, but that doesn't mean you
shouldn't look for a top-notch warranty on these aids to navigation. A
company willing to give you a quality warranty is a company that stands
behind its product. You want to buy your lighting from this sort of
company, since it allows you to have even greater faith in the product.
When it comes to the specific length of your warranty, you'll find it may
vary. Some companies offer six month to one year warranties, which isn't
so bad. However, I'm most impressed with companies that offer a three year
warranty on their LED marine lanterns, since this shows a true belief in
their company's product.
Many people have been using incandescent private aids to navigation for
years. These people tend to be dubious about new products, and might
wonder about the output of an LED light. Do these lights have the same
intensity of light output of an incandescent bulb? Happily, I can report
that the answer is yes.
The amount of light emitted from various LED lanterns depends on the
specific lantern model. However, in general you can rest assured that the
intensity of the light will be as good as, if not better than, a
comparable incandescent light. Since the LED lights are also far more
energy efficient, they're clearly the better choice from among the two.
