LED Flashlights
Light emitting diodes (LEDs) are real unsung heroes when it comes to
electronics. LEDs can perform dozens of different jobs and are found in
all types of devices. One of the most popular LED devices is the
flashlight. Today, more people choose LED flashlights over traditional
ones because of the many benefits LED lighting offers.
LEDs are tiny light bulbs that fit very easily into an electrical circuit,
but unlike the ordinary incandescent bulbs, they do not have filaments
that will burn out. They are illuminated solely by electron movement in a
semiconductor material. Today, you can get flashlight kits that will
enable you to turn a regular flashlight into an LED flashlight.
Led flashlights are both very practical and functional and are used in an
array of applications. A typical flashlight consists of a small electric
light bulb that is associated with a parabolic reflector and is powered by
electric batteries. An LED flashlight also consists of a tiny light bulb,
but does not contain a filament. The LED flashlights are, thus, more
efficient and use less power than normal flashlights.
Moreover, LED flashlights have much longer life spans. They generally will
last 100,000 hours before falling into disrepair, while a traditional
flashlight with a regular bulb burns out after about 100 hours of use.
LEDs draw less power, which means that the batteries in the flashlight are
able to last 10 to 100 times longer. Simply put, LED flashlights are more
reliable and durable.
