LED Counters
LED counters provide management with vital information so that a company
can reach its goals. The information that these devices provide is useful
for jobs that require assembly, for plant managers, and for those
businesses that rely on their inventories to make a profit. These counters
can be purchased as single-line devices or as multi-line devices which
give more than a count.
Multi-line LED counters not only count items, but they also have the
capability to show plant employees how much they have yet to complete to
reach their daily goal and to show their count deviation in relation to a
previous day. With these options available on the counter, it is easier
for management to compare outputs, and it also gives the employee the
chance to see what type of progress he or she is making. In instances
where this is not of major importance, a single-line counter could provide
all the information a manager needs to track the progress of a certain
workstation.
The way these devices work is that they have a sensor that sends a pulse
to the counter every time the sensor gets activated. When the counter
receives a pulse, it records that pulse as an increment of one, unless it
has been programmed by management to count each pulse as a different
value. Some of these devices can also be programmed to count down to zero
rather than count up to a certain value, which can be very useful in some
areas of business.
LED counters are imperative for any company delving into the idea of
starting a new business strategy. Business strategies can be something
that is hard for everyone in the company to embrace. LED counters allow
employees to feel like they are making a change for the better in the
company. If continuous improvement was the strategy chosen, employees can
use LEDs to see if they are reaching their goals and they'll feel like
they added some value to the company.
